100+ Classic Thanksgiving Side Dish Recipes

Do you make Thanksgiving dinner for your family or do you bring a side dish?

Is there a special side dish your family looks forward to eating each year?

My family usually looks to my sister to cook the turkey, dressing and pies. My specialty is deviled eggs and mashed potatoes (which I call smashed potatoes, because, that’s what they are afterall.)

I was thinking of trying something new this year. Actually, I tried something new last year, it was a brussel sprouts dish. It was tasty, but it smelled up the house. This year I’m looking for something with a much less pungent odor.

I found this post from for 100+ Classic Thanskgiving Side Dishes and thought you may want to take a look at it too for some inspiration. Maybe your new traditional side dish is in this list. Picture #50 Sweet Potato Casserole sure looks good. Maybe that will be my new side dish this year.

I’d love to hear from you. What’s your favorite Thanksgiving side dish? Do you make it yourself or enjoy someone else’s labor of love?

Happy Thanskgiving to you and your family!
